Carboxymethyl cellulose, made from natural cellulose (such as cotton linters, wood pulp) as raw materials, and prepared through chemical modification. A white to slightly yellow fibrous or granular powder, odorless and tasteless. Easily soluble in water, forming a transparent viscous colloid.

Core Features

CMC can form high-viscosity colloids in water. Even with a small addition,it can make water as thick as glue.

CMC can lock in moisture and prevent water loss. This makes it very popular in food preservation and construction mortar.

CMC allows oil and water to coexist peacefully, preventing layering; it can also keep solid particles (such as meat or medicinal powders) suspended in liquid without settling.

Condiments: Soy sauce, vinegar, salad dressing to increase viscosity and stabilize emulsions

Flour-based products: Bread, steamed buns, noodles to improve dough extensibility, increase elasticity, reduce breakage, and enhance texture

Frozen foods: Improves freeze–thaw stability and inhibits ice crystal growth

Canned foods: Used as a thickener and stabilizer to improve broth or sauce texture

Pharmaceutical and Health Products

Pharmaceutical excipient: Used as a tablet binder and disintegrant, capsule filler, suspending agent for suspensions, and ointment base

Sustained/controlled-release formulations: Acts as a drug carrier to control the release rate of active ingredients

Artificial tears: Utilized for its excellent moisturizing and viscosity-enhancing properties

Personal Care and Cosmetics

Skincare products: Creams, lotions, face masks as a thickener, stabilizer, and humectant to improve skin feel

Shampoo / conditioner: as a thickener and conditioning agent to enhance combability and smoothness

Toothpaste:as a thickener and stabilizer, providing suitable viscosity and gloss

Color cosmetics: Foundations, mascaras, etc., as a thickener and stabilizer

Construction Materials Industry

Cement mortar / concrete: as a water-retention agent and thickener to improve workability, prevent bleeding and segregation, and enhance bonding strength

Gypsum products: Improves flowability and water retention, increasing product strength

Coatings: Used as a thickener, stabilizer, and pigment dispersant to improve leveling, brushability, and storage stability

 Oil Industry
